Laneway Learning's Sunday Spectacular!

Sunday the 16th of June saw THE ROBOTS ARE COMING make an appearance at Laneway Learning's Sunday Spectacular, which by all measures was a thorough success.

Happily, the 3D printing was a bit of a crowd-pleaser.  I had a rather sore throat by the end of the day, but nothing that a slug of well-tempered home brew and a slice of pizza couldn't fix, apparently.

The only real downside to it was that I was too busy to get anywhere near seeing any but the nearest of the other exhibitors or workshops.  There was all sorts of interesting things there.  I was particularly impressed by the chaps who appeared next door to me rocking the Kinect sensor, and Wallace from Melbourne Uni who was showing off the flexible plastic printed solar panels, and who flashed around a small vial of (actual) fullerene, after seeing my model of it.  You can see the (rather large) model of it still with its support structure attached in this photo.

I'd have liked to get along to the home brewing workshop too.

The other nice thing about this is that our upcoming Laneway Learning 3D printing workshop sold out pretty much straight away.  Hopefully at least some of the peeps who missed out on tickets to that can find their way along to some of our other workshops that are coming up soon.
